Judging A Book By It's Cover: Graceling

Wow, I haven't done one of these in forever! This week I'm judging the US hardcover of Graceling, which has been on my bookshelf for me to read for quite a while now. Here's the cover:

It's...okay. I love the background, it's kind of vintage and very unique. I think what turns me off is the bright light surrounding the sword. The font's not too bad. And I think the half face in the sword is a really nice touch. So I guess I like the cover... I don't love it though. What do you think?

  3. I really don't like the US cover, it kept me from picking it up for a long time. But then one of my friends read it and said it was good, so I decided to read it (only got halfway through. The first half was good, I just don't like fantasy so couldn't finish it).
Anyway, th UK cover is waaay better! If I'd seen that cover at the library instead, I would have picked it up right away. =)

  4. I haven't read it yet, but I do like this cover. Intrigues me before I even know what the book is about.

  5. I love this cover! I wanted to read this book before I knew what it's about because I thought the cover was so cool. I don't like the UK cover so much though...which is probably what I would have to get if I bought it :/

  6. I've heard such great things about this book but the American cover is so blah.
