My Bookshelves/Summer Reading

Anyone who knows me will tell you how nosy I am (and then ramble on for a while about it), and I love to see other book blogger's bookshelves-try saying that five times fast-so I thought I'd make a post about my own!

I'm pretty sure every room in my house has books. My whole family reads a lot (well, except my five-year-old brother, but we're working on that), so we have a few hundred books, easy. Here's where my books are:

This is the me and my mom's main bookshelf. I'm always worrying that it will fall down when I walk next to it, I'll drown in books, and have to read my way out.

I've unofficially claimed the top of the bookshelf as mine:

I've only read four of those. It's mostly plan-to-read books, though, and only one book that I have for review.

Then on top of our entertainment center in the same room, there's a few of my books, but mostly my mom's adult paranormal romance:

Then there's a shelf with half my mom's book, and half of my books:

Did I mention that all of these shelves are double stacked?

Walk out of that room and enter our gaming room, and you'll find a small bookshelf hidden behind my brother's tent full of toys:

This one's got a lot of classics and stuff that isn't that high on our plan-to-read mountain.

Now, we visit my room, where my bookshelf is in the closet:

Here's my favorites shelf. A few are missing (Birthmarked, Shade, Hex Hall) but they'll make it there soon!

These are more books that I haven't read. The plastic bag is full of swag, and the stacked books are review books.

Then the to-be-read books go on:

And they can't all fit on my shelf:

I've actually read The Host, which I really liked, but out of these that's the only one.

Looking at all of these unread books is making me sad. I think this summer I'll be joining Steph Su in tackling some of my TBR pile this summer, and catching up on my challenges. I usually get a lot of reading done in the summer, since it's when all of my activities are over. Do you have any summer reading plans?

  4. Wow you really do have books all over the place. I am the only one in my family with bookshelves and I don't let anyone else put stuff on them. I am already afraid they will collapse under the weight of my books alone. Lol. =]

  5. I have 2 bookshelves in my house but one had to be taken for crafting storage. I had to relocate my double stacked books into many diaper boxes. I'll have to take pics when I get a new bookshelf and can reorganize them all.

I still don't have nearly as much as you though.

  6. I think if I were to show you my book shelf, you'd cry in pity. It's really just one shelf. When I moved I had to leave many books behind :( But I love seeing your rooms! The entertainment center without a TV - Nice :) Books are entertainment. I've very envious of your house!

(ps I like being a nosy book blogger and seeing what other people's bookshelves look like :P)

    It can be a library!

Sometimes, just being surrounded with books makes you feel happy, right?

  14. Nice bookshelves! Hehe, I don't have enough space on my shelves to stack some books too. I have to find some place to "squeeze" them in.

  16. It makes me happy when people post pictures of their own shelves. I should probably post some of mine but have never gotten around to it.
