Fans of The Twilight Saga will be enthralled by this riveting story of Bree Tanner, a character first introduced in Eclipse, and the darker side of the newborn vampire world she inhabits. In another irresistible combination of danger, mystery, and romance, Stephenie Meyer tells the devastating story of Bree and the newborn army as they prepare to close in on Bella Swan and the Cullens, following their encounter to its unforgettable conclusion.
It was really interesting to see how the vampires in Stephenie Meyer's world act when they're not goody-two-shoes vegetarians, though I actually would've liked to see a little more gore and all, actually. (First time I've ever put that in a review...)
My favorite character as definitely Fred. I didn't really care too much for Bree's "BFF"/love interest Diego. It was possible that it was because I listened to the audiobook version of this, and Diego's voice wasn't nearly...um....enough like a guy for my taste. (Though that's as far as my complaints go for the reader, overall I thought she did a good job.) Bree herself was a pretty good character, though.
So I guess I was kinda neutral about this one, overall. I'm glad I read it though. It was an interesting, quick read that I enjoyed and would recommend to Twilight fans.
Book Report:
Plot: Well paced.
Characters: Not too bad.
Writing: I definitely noticed a lack of description...
Reading (audiobook): Aside from Diego's voice, pretty good.
Ending: Expected, but still pretty sad.
How kid friendly is it? Very. There's death, but other than that I didn't notice anything.
Should I read it? Sure. It was quick, so you wouldn't be wasting that much time if you didn't enjoy it.
Overall:
I really enjoyed this! Nice, honest review :)

Zoe: I usually stick with the actual book, but if you're in the car a lot like me, then this one's a good choice for an audiobook.
ReplyDeleteI've read mixed reviews about this one but it does sound good. Ack I should probably start by giving the Twilight series a go though.
