Today the cover I'm judging is:
You know, when I saw the cover I wasn't interested. At all. It didn't look like my type of book. However, once I actually saw the synopsis I became surprised and intrigued. Now that I've just finished the book (review coming soon) I can gladly say that the cover fits the book very, very well. My least favorite thing about the cover is the lines surrounding the author and title, but other than that this cover has definitely grown on me.
Now that we've judged the cover, here's what the book is about:
The year is 2041, and sixteen-year-old Molly McClure has lived a relatively quiet life on an isolated farming island in Canada, but when her family fears the worst may have happened to her grandparents in the US, Molly must brave the dangerous, chaotic world left after global economic collapse—one of massive oil shortages, rampant crime, and abandoned cities.
Molly is relieved to find her grandparents alive in their Portland suburb, but they’re financially ruined and practically starving. What should’ve been a quick trip turns into a full-fledged rescue mission. And when Molly witnesses something the local crime bosses wishes she hadn’t, Molly’s only way home may be to beat them at their own game. Luckily, there’s a handsome stranger who’s willing to help.
Restoring Harmony is a riveting, fast-paced dystopian tale complete with adventure and romance that readers will devour.
I love this cover. I do however think it would be more powerful if the blue hues were deeper.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds really good/intresting, I love the boxes in the sky but like you I think the lines though the title distract from that image, sorta taking away the intensity of it.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to read it though!
When I first saw this cover I loved it and thought it would be right up my alley. But then I read the synopsis and thought the cover might have been a little off. I guess I will have to read it and see if the cover matches the story!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the post.
Sounds good and i like the cover.it's refreshing =)
ReplyDeleteThis cover is SOOO amazing! I've heard mixed things about it though but I may order it :)
ReplyDeleteI am not a fan of this cover but the description makes me think otherwise! It really shows how good advertising is key.
ReplyDeleteI love how she's carrying a violin case.
ReplyDeleteI'm not usually one for books that take place in the future, but this actually sounds pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThe way you blew up the cover makes it look better. I think if we couldn't see it so clearly I wouldn't care for it. But I think I feel the same you do about it.
This cover didn't catch my attention either, but after reading the synopsis, I just HAVE to read it! Hope I can get my hands on it soon :)
