Blog Tour: The Familiars Guest Post/Scavenger Hunt

With Halloween fast approaching, we thought it was only appropriate for "The Familiars" to celebrate their favorite holiday with a blog tour! We will be trick or treating through the blogosphere, and are so excited to be stopping by your neighborhood.

We are also having a special Familiars-themed Halloween Scavenger Hunt! At each stop along the blog tour, we will be asking a trivia question from our book. After you fill in your answer, the letter that falls in the place of the * can be placed in the corresponding number of the larger puzzle. So for example, since this is question number 20, the letter that lands in the space where the * is can be filled in where the 20 is in the larger puzzle. The larger puzzle will form yet another clue, and anyone who answers it correctly will be entered into a drawing for an autographed book as well as a few other Halloween treats!

Be sure to visit The Familiars blog at thefamiliars.blogspot.com to find links to all other blog stops and find out where to send in your answers! All entries must be entered by November 15.

20. What is the name of the Great Mountain Alchemist's familiar?

My Cover Remake

Princess Bookie has another cover remake contest going on, and I couldn't resist entering this time around.

Here's the original cover for the book I chose, The Cinderella Society:And here's mine:

Hope you like it!

My YA Debut!

No, not really. Not yet, although I am writing a YA book-but that's not what this post is about. I finally made my cover:
Here's how to make your own:

1 – Go to “Fake Name Generator” or click http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/

The name that appears is your author name.

2 – Go to “Random Word Generator” or clickhttp://www.websitestyle.com/parser/randomword.shtml

The word listed under “Random Verb” is your title.

3 – Go to “FlickrCC” or click http://flickrcc.bluemountains.net/index.php

Type your title into the search box. The first photo that contains a person is your cover.

4 – Use Photoshop, Picnik, or similar to put it all together. Be sure to crop and/or zoom in. (I highly recommend Picnik, one of my new favorite sites. Photoshop and I are kinda mortal enemies, so you get the idea.)

5 – Post it to your site along with this text.
